Artisan Handcrafted Jewellery

Ethical & Sustainable

Sustainability extends well beyond the concept of recycling; it encompasses a comprehensive approach to ethical production and responsible sourcing. At Cerina Jewellery, we are committed to creating pieces that uphold our values of sustainability and social responsibility.

Packaging

In our packaging, we strive for eco-friendliness: while the foam inserts are not recyclable, the rest of our materials are. Our jewellery boxes are FSC certified, mailing bags are biodegradable and our gift bags are biodegradable, ocean friendly and made from recycled materials. We are continually learning new ways to further reduce our environmental impact.

Jewellery

The majority of our jewellery is handmade by myself in Scotland. I use recycled metals wherever possible. All of the beads, gemstones and findings are mindfully sourced from UK and EU suppliers who follow ethical and sustainable practices both in their workplace and when sourcing their materials.

Our own designs which are handcrafted in Bali by a small team of eco-friendly artisan silversmiths, use materials which are ethically sourced and they recycle the metals used. They adhere to high ethical standards, guaranteeing fair treatment and compensation for all artisans, ensuring that we support local communities involved in the crafting process.

By creating fair income opportunities, we help enhance the livelihoods of these skilled craftsmen and their families, fostering independence and enriching the local community.

The production company I work with adheres strictly to government guidelines regarding pay, working hours, and safe working environments, ensuring that ethical production practices are not just a goal but a reality. They also actively participate in sustainability initiatives such as recycling programs, tree planting, and beach clean-ups. A portion of their sales is directed towards supporting disadvantaged residents which has a positive impact on their community.
